I am a SAHM of a 9 month old little boy. I have always been on the chubby side and never really enjoyed dieting and exercise. I have tried many ways to get myself motivated to loose weight but I have never been very successful until I joined Stroller Strides.

Several years ago my sister told me she started a SS class in Corpus Christi to get out of the house and meet new people as she had just moved to a new town and had no friends. So I knew once I decided to have children i too would join SS. But I had no idea how amazing and how life changing this class would be.

The first day I was very nervous, I kept asking myself are the other mommies going to like me, what should I wear, how will i ever be able to keep up. But once I met my instructor, Bethany Gregory, I knew everything was going to be just fine and all of those worries went away. At 20 weeks pregnant, she greeted me with a warm and inviting smile and told me "she was happy I decided to come give it a try." The women I met with and talked to were so forthcoming with good advice for child rearing and encouraging me to push harder in class. After my first class I was hooked. I called my husband immediately and told him this is where i need to be. That day I weighed in at 201 lbs and today after 5 months of hard work and dedication I am now at 179 lbs. My new goal is to weigh in at 145.

I want to thank Bethany for always encouraging me to push harder and all the other wonderful mommies that I have come to know because without y'all I would not have been able to do this. Now I try to eat healthier (most days) and on the days i do not have class I go for a jog or try to do something that helps keep my metabolism going. 6 months ago I would not have done that.

Have you ever wanted to complete in a 10k or half marathon mama? We have the perfect opportunity for you to train with a certified Run Coach in our FIT4MOM 12-week Run Club program. We will teach you how to train properly and give you the motivation & support of a group to train and successfully complete your running goals.

  • 12 week program begins Nov 27th
  • Group runs will be held on Saturdays at 8am in Keller
  • Finale race is the Ft Worth Cowtown 10k & half marathon - Feb 24th 10k & 25th half marathon
